Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has once again ruffled feathers after disclosing that he will be on the presidential ballot box come 2022.

The MP made the remarks during an interview on Hot 96 breakfast show with the host, Jeff Koinange.

Kuria expressed hope that he will triumph over Deputy President William Ruto but promised to give him a job in his government once he becomes the president.

“Believe you me; I will be on the ballot box on 2022. There is nothing that prevents me from doing it” he told a surprised Jeff adding that “apart from Uhuru and Raila, I am currently the third most famous person in Kenya”.

When Jeff asked him to clarify what he meant, Kuria argued that the recent event where he was accorded high level security in Kisumu when he accompanied Uhuru and Raila speaks a lot.

“Did you see the kind of security I had in Kisumu? This means I am a respected fellow” he said.

Kuria’s sentiments come merely a few days after speculations were rife that he was planning to quit Jubilee for Democratic Party following a tweet he made. On this post, Kuria had drugged the DP flag on his twitter account while claiming that the party will be the vehicle for Mt Kenya.

Although the DP party leadership welcomed him in the party, Kuria is yet to make an official application to join it.

In past remarks, Kuria eluded claims that he would be running for a governor’s seat saying that there is no way he can resort to doing what he considers “village jobs”.

Asked whom he will chose as running mate, Kuria said that he would make a good pair with the deputy president William Ruto.

“I think Ruto can play that part well considering that he has experience in this position” Kuria told Jeff Koinange.

At the same time, Kuria also criticized Jubilee’s housing project claiming it unsustainable agenda.

“In order to build 500,000 houses within the 3 years left, we need to build 11,905 houses per month from today going forward. This also translates to 16 units per hour and about 1000 houses per day, a move which is unrealistic” he told the radio host.
