The most liked photo on Instagram as of January 4, 2019 is that of an egg which is also the most liked post on the internet.
The photo that was posted by @world_record_egg in a deliberate attempt to break the record on the most liked Instagram posts, attracted 38.7 million likes making it the most liked photo of all time.
Kylie Jenner’s daughter’s picture had previously held the highest number of Instagram likes of 18.5 million.
As of Monday January 14, the photo of the egg surpassed Kylie’s, surprising the owner prompting him to write, "This is madness. What a time to be alive."
Kylie Jenner posted a video on Instagram of her cracking an egg open with the caption: "Take that little egg", the egg post received the most likes that same day surpassing the record held by Despacito music video which has 31.6 million likes on YouTube.
