Coast women leaders have countered attacks by a section of politicians claiming President Uhuru Kenyatta is sidelining some regions.
Speaking at the Uhuru Gardens, former Kwale Woman Representative Zainab Chidzuga said efforts by the President to unite and develop the country were inclusive.
She urged politicians to put aside their political differences and support the handshake between Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga for the betterment of the country.
Beatrice Gambo, the Kilifi Women’s leader, urged the Coast to forget their political affiliations for the sake of development locally.
“The blue economy is all about making use of water and our region is blessed with the ocean... Jobs will be provided for our youth and our area will experience tremendous development,” she said.
