The National Land Commission (NLC) has said that it has received Sh 10.2Bilion for the compensation of the land owners in SGR Phase Two construction.
NLC has said that they will soon commence compensating land owners so that the construction process can begin. The land owners have however been advised to vacate immediately after getting paid.
In a press release dated January 4, 2019, NLC confirmed that the money will cater for the balance of payout for the people affected along Rongai – Ngong line, Ngong – Mai Mahiu (including Mai Mahiu station) and Mai Mahiu – Suswa station.
“We want to thank all the affected persons for their patience and cooperation and assure all of speedy compensation. However, we want to advise the PAPs to vacate the corridor immediately they receive compensation to allow the Commission hand over the site to the contractor, (China Road and Bridge Company),” reads the statement.
