Most farmers in different parts of Kenya have started embracing the use of Sistema biogas technology which comes with many benefits.
A person with only two cows or more is capable of installing the new biogas system that produce cooking gas and organic fertiliser. The company also sells larger units that are being used to generate electricity. Waste from poultry and pigs can also be used in the bio digester.

Global Commercial Director at Sistema Biobolsa Mr. Cedrick A. Todwell says the technology provides added value to farmers, enabling them cook without smoke and increase productivity in their farms with organic fertilizer.
“To improve the affordability of the biodigester, Sistema.bio provides interest-free payment plans to farmers. This innovative approach increases access by smallholder farmers,” said Todwell.

Todwell says the bio digesters provided by Sistema provide bio waste management solutions to create clean and safe energy.
Mr. George Kariuki, a farmer in Karatina town, Kiambu County keeps dairy cows and also practice organic farming after acquiring Sistema biodigester. Mr. Kariuki began using Sistema last year and reiterates that his cost of farming has reduced significantly because he now makes his own organic fertilizer.
“Sistema biogas system is more efficient and produces more gas, enough for my household and organic fertilizer for my coffee farm. I therefore appreciate the quick customer service that Sistema offers,” says Kariuki.
He is now promoting the use of Sistema among his friends and other farmers in the county and other rural areas.
Over 2,000 Sistema biogas units have been sold to farmers in Eldoret, Nairobi, Meru, Kericho and Kiambu. The company is rapidly gaining popularity in the country and is targeting to open branches in other counties.
