A speeding government vehicle on Monday, March 19 hit a Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldier along Lang’ata road. The soldier was crossing the road from Lan’gata Barracks when the incident occurred.
Confirming the 6 am incident, Langa’ta OCPD Elijah Maina said the government vehicle was headed towards Bomas of Kenya when it hit the soldier, killing him on the spot.
The OCPD stated that the body of the deceased soldier was taken to the morgue. He further said the matter would be handled by the defense department and that the government vehicle inspection unit probes the accident.
The accident caused a snarl up on both lanes as road users waited for the scene to be cleared.
