The Presbyterian University of East Africa has filed an application at the court seeking to overturn a directive from the Ministry of Education which revoked the institution's Letter of Interim Authority last week.
The then acting Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i directed the Commission for University Education (CUE) to shut down the institution over failure to meet guidelines.
A spot-check at the institution's main campus on Tuesday this week showed that learning was still going on as usual contrary to the shut-down order.
The Vice chancellor Prof John Mungania said that the institution considers the decision harsh and has chosen to engage the government on the revocation of the closure order.
The VC said that the management has confidence that the court will quash the ministry's decision and allow them to continue operating.
