A public university is in the eye of a fresh storm after it forced its students to pay 75 percent of school fees within three weeks of opening for the new semester, a move that threatens to lock out a number of students.
Our little birdie says the students are complaining that they were ambushed with the new conditions that were allegedly enforced with the newly installed digital payment system.
The same university is also said to have ordered that students who ought to resume classes in January wait until mid-February in order to allow those who had been affected by lecturers’ strike to sit their examinations.
The institution further intends to have all students break in June and resume classes in September, meaning those in their fourth year, and ought to graduate in December will have to wait until December 2019.
