Several people are reported to have lost their lives and many others got injured after a police truck they were travelling in rolled several times at Moinonin along the Marigat-Loruk road in Tiaty, Baringo County.
The police truck, which ferries goods and passengers left Marigat town at around 2 pm and was reported 30minutes later to have lost control and rolled injuring dozens of people.
A truck driver who witnessed the incident was heading to Marigat town when he saw the truck rolling from a distance towards him.
Witnesses say that the driver of the truck was avoiding to knock down goats that were crossing the road when he lost control of the vehicle which veering off the road and rolled several times.
He stopped his vehicle and he moved out after the lorry stabilized. He then started rescuing the injured passengers who were scattered all over the road.

He managed to rush them up-to Marigat sub-county hospital as ambulances belonging to Red Cross, Army recruits, AP, Kabarnet Hospital and good Samaritans stepped in to help.
The KDF officers based 1km away from the place of the accident assisted in offering First Aid services.
Baringo North Sub-County Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Sheh Muhammed says that the truck was ferrying some residents to Kapedo and 5 AP officers who had gone to Marigat to purchase foodstuff for their colleagues attached to Kapedo AP Camp.
Several of those who were injured have been admitted to Marigat District Hospital while others were transferred to Kabarnet Hospital.
