Two security guards attached to Moi University have been charged with rape of a student.
The two, Ezekiel Barmasai and Timothy Kemboi, are accused of committing the offense on October 6, 2017 within at the Eldoret-based institution.
Each suspect faced two alternative charges of raping and touching the girl's private parts.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on a sh500, 000 bond.
Moi University students held demonstrations on Sunday condemning the incident and reported the case to police in Eldoret.

The matter will be mentioned in court on October 19 with the hearing date on November 2, 2017.
In 2015, Moi University students staged protests after one of them was raped, killed and body dumped near one of the hostels.
