National Super Alliance flag bearer Raila Odinga has criticized the electoral body for failure to consult key election stakeholders on matters concerning the elections date adding that the Jubilee is the one that participated fully in setting the date only for Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission to ratify it.
“Matiangi announced the date yesterday only for IEBC to ratify it.It is Jubilee that set the date,”said Raila.
The former Prime Minister called on the errant officials in the IEBC need to not only give way to new officials to avoid a repeat of shambolic election process but should also be prosecuted. He added that the Wafula Chebukati’s led commission failed to comply with the court orders by denying them access to the servers.
Speaking on the same matter, Kalonzo Musyoka said that IEBC needed to have checked on the provisions of article 140 of the constitutions before reaching on providing date for the polls.
NASA proposed 24th October for the polls to be conducted disagreeing with the October 17th date.
