After an assurance by the Secretary General of Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Mr. Wilson Sossion and publicly refusing that he shall not take oath of office on August 31 as a nominated Member of Parliament, he still went ahead and did so.
Mr. Sossion’s name was gazette on August 25 under the Orange Democratic Party (ODM). Despite asking the ODM party leader and NASA co-principal Raila Odinga to choose another person for that post, he did not make a formal notice to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to declare the seat vacant.
Sossion has though to date not been heard in the lime light after taking the oath. Many teachers however are happy for his victory and expect Mr. Sossion to represent the teacher's’ interests in the National Assembly.
It is however not known when he shall publicly declare concerning the resignation of his Secretarial seat at the teachers union.
