September 01, 2017 at 11:51am will go to the annals of History that nullification of the Presidential election in Africa. The Supreme Court has quashed President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election and ordering for a fresh presidential election within 60 days from the day of ruling.
The Supreme court has stated that Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) did not conduct free, fair, verifiable elections but cleared President Uhuru Kenyatta of any malpractice. They also stated that the irregularities experienced affected the final outcome of the election.
Chief Justice David Maraga and judges to the books of history to nullify the elections of the President elect. Out of the 7 judges, 2 (Justice Jackton Ojwang' and Njoki Ndung'u) gave dissenting views saying the election was free and fair.Maraga stated that the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta is null and void and he was not validly elected.
He further ordered a fresh election in the next two months according to the law. Kenya has been now gone to the history to do a rerun of the Presidential election.
