Embakasi East legislature Babu Owino caused drama at the August house during swearing in of Members of Parliament when he swore in the in the name of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and added TIBIM! to his oath.
“I, Babu Owino, having been elected a Member of Parliament do swear in the name of Almighty God that I would bear true faith and allegiance to the people of Republic of Kenya and Raila Odinga…,”he said.
He was afterwards ordered to take oath in the manner prescribed- swearing allegiance to the president and to the country
The similar incident happened in 2008 when former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba refused to take oath in the name of Mwai Kibaki.
