Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has been handed the governor elect certificate by IEBC terming his victory over his nemesis Boni Khalwale as a win for the people of Kakamega County.
Interestingly, the governor had in his campaigns ridiculed the outgoing Senator Khalwale as lacking managerial skills and experience to run a better job he was pondering on giving him (Khalwale) prompting a change of thought.
Oparanya says he will ensure that Khalwale will have an office in Malinya after appointing him as a bullfighting coordinator for Kakamega instead of a managerial job.
“I will ensure he has an office in Malinya where he constructed a bullfighting stadiuym,” said the governor.
The governor had made this remarks as he campaigned in Lugari before the elections in which he has successfully defended his seat.

He dismissed earlier sensationally claims by Khalwale that he (Oparanya) was from the Teso community and that her mother had an affair with a Teso man claimed to be his father.
According to the governor, the age difference between him and Khalwale was only two years and that there is no way the senator would have supervised to get details of the said affair.
The two have had a serious war of words right from the time the Bullfighter declared interest in the governor’s seat with a disagreement growing broader as opinion polls showed higher chances for Oparanya to retain his seat.
