Opposition leaders in Kisumu have accused their Jubilee Party counterparts of portraying NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga as having reneged on his promise to be a one-term President.
Led by Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o, MPs Oburu Oginga (Nominated), Aduma Owuor (Nyakach) and Fred Outa (Nyando), the local party officials yesterday linked some JP officials to an incident on Thursday in which youths masquerading as ODM supporters distributed T-Shirts and caps demanding that Raila rules for 10 years as opposed to the NASA agreement which gave the ODM leader one term should the coalition win the forthcoming polls. The ODM leaders linked the planned demo to senior Jubilee officials hailing from Kisumu, Siaya and Homa Bay counties.
Police sources said the youths had printed orange-coloured T-shirts and placards synonymous to ODM colours, bearing writings of #RAO MIAKA 10 (Raila 10 years).

The officials stopped the youths from demonstrating in the town because their activities were meant to cause a fall-out in NASA, since Raila had promised to be in power for only five years.
The youths were beaten and the more than 1,000 T-shirts and caps burnt by irate ODM supporters.
But Kisumu County Jubilee Party Chairman Zuberi Liete, however, denied any linkage with the demonstrations.
County Police Commander Titus Yoma said they had launched investigations into the matter.
