NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga was on Sunday night rushed to a Mombasa hospital after complaining of discomfort.
Raila was at the Moi International Airport in Mombasa waiting to board a flight to Nairobi after holding several rallies in Kilifi County, when he felt unwell.
He was rushed to hospital by his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka and senators Moses Wetang’ula and James Orengo where he was admitted for further examination.
His aides said it was a case of food poisoning.
On Sunday night, his adviser Salim Lone sent a statement confirming the incident.

According to Lone, Raila himself felt that there was no need for medical checkup, but he was persuaded by his colleagues that it was best not to travel.
“The doctor feels that there is absolutely no cause for alarm,” he said.
Lone said there was absolutely no reason for anyone to worry about Raila’s health.
Earlier, Raila’s spokesman Dennis Onyango posted on his social media page confirming the incident.
