Three traffic police officers attached to Kitale Police Station have been arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for allegedly taking bribes.
North Rift EACC Deputy Director Enoch Otiko said they arrested the three on Webuye-Kitale road while a fourth officer escaped. The three were identified as Philip Kemboi, Wyclif Wekesa and Eliud Cheruiyot.
"We have been receiving complaints from the public and we decided to mount a surveillance," said Otiko.
He said they set up video cameras, which recorded the officers engaging in activities contrary to the traffic rules.
"The details of what we collected will remain confidential," he said.
