Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has termed the ongoing mayhem in parts of the county a recipe for genocide.
The senator said it was unacceptable that killings and displacement of innocent people continue unabated while there is a government in place.
"What we are witnessing is near genocide and the President must address this issue," he said.
Gideon, who was touring Kapkomon in Baringo North where hundreds of people have fled their homes because of insecurity, donated foodstuffs to the victims.
He called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to hear the cries of Baringo residents.

Over 10,000 people have been displaced in Baringo North and are living in 10 camps. So far, eight people have been killed in the last one week.
He said it was unfortunate that the perpetrators of the heinous act were so emboldened to even carry out attacks few kilometres from where the Deputy President William Ruto was addressing another group of displaced people.
Gideon was referring to an incident where suspected Pokot bandits shot in the air a few kilometres from where Ruto was addressing residents of Bartabwa Ward.
During the incident, Ngorora chief Thomas Ruttok Chebor was killed.
Nominated Senator Zipporah Kittony, who accompanied Gideon during the tour, called on local residents to file a petition in the Senate asking for removal of Tiaty MP Asman Kamama from chairing the National Assembly Committee on Security.
