A freelance photographer at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, who only identified himself as Dennis said he was worried this Christmas.
“I am ready for business, but I am a bit worried it may not be like other festive seasons because of high inflation. In previous festive seasons, I would have been in roaring business,” he said.

But hotel owners in Kisumu are anticipating a boom this season after they rebranded their services, with pocket friendly offers to families and those doing corporate parties.
Kisumu Hotel Managers Group Chairperson Robinson Anyal said several hotels were expected to record full bookings during the season.
“Most hotels will be doing over 70 per cent between December 22 and December 31 and a good number have already been fully booked as at December 20,” said Anyal.
The hotel managers said they had redesigned their packages to cater for family breaks, events, parties and other domestic tourists looking to sample the town.
