The world is driven by money. Money makes the world go round and that’s why your parents sent you to school become something-doctor, teacher, pilot and so on. All these has the sole aim of making a person independent financially and possibly extend the generation even further. But even when other professions are considered noble, there are others which derive its vibrancy from other’s misfortunes. These are:
Journalism
On the front page of your newspaper, you rarely miss a tragedy where people died, property lost and people are maimed. That’s journalism. They’ve programmed people to have a profound distaste for stories of people doing quite well. Even when they do they sandwich those kind of news between the misfortunes of others, in the middle pages. Its news when someone is murdered raped, or robbed. With these misfortunes someone has a job upon such happenings.
Coffin makers
I read a novel where a coffin maker was one of the characters who wished that a cholera epidemic would strike the entire village so that he can make as many coffins as possible. In my home place you won’t find coffin makers anywhere. Our people believe that dealing with anything that alludes to death attracts it. As such coffin makers and funeral homes are run by other tribes who aren’t afraid to attract man’s most dreaded enemy. Methinks there is no joy in dealing with coffins. How do you even bargain with a bereaved family? I mean there are through so much sorrow already.

Counselors
There’s so much strain relationships nowadays. People are realizing they are married to the wrong people, and they ran to marriage counselors. Some, I guess, have already made a decision and want to blame someone else for it if it backfires on them. The grass can’t always be greener on the other, and if it is it may be infested by venomous snakes. I believe these counselors have jobs that they shouldn’t.
Lawyers
I have as much respect for lawyers as hatred, partly because I couldn’t be one. Lawyers can steal so much with a brief case than a thug with a gun and walk away scot free. But then again these people can be of great help when faced by a misfortune perpetuated by a stronger member of the society. The law was made with principle aim of protecting the weaker members of the society. You need to look at our government and see what I mean.
Firefighters
Firstly, all the firefighters do a good a job in the events tragedies. No one can willfully and with valor put their lives I danger. I admire that courage. But then again they aren’t called into action to celebrate; they are called to action when the abodes of people are being consumed by a fire, and sometimes when buildings collapse.
Politicians
Misfortunes such as poor health services, poor state of roads, terrorism and ignorance are part of what form politicians list of promises. The latter is the greatest of them. Ignorance make people elect leaders with wanting backgrounds, integrity and leadership qualities. Then they endure five years of complaining but then go back to electing leaders of such ilk. And money surprisingly shield these kind of decisions.
