I woke up this morning almost sure that Hillary was going to be the next POTUS. I was sure that nobody in their right mind would dare elect Trump as President of the world’s super power. But some minutes to 10am, results trickling in state by state and only a few states remaining as Trump leads, I feel cheated.

To be honest, both candidates have their shortcomings. Trump is a racist, he is insensitive, he has a horrible temperament, hates immigrants, hates muslims, disrespects women and wants to undo all that Obama has ever done, just because.

Clinton on the other hand, is seen as insencere, maintains status quo, the emails saga (which were cleared by the FBI) and she is a woman(sadly, this will cost her).

This was a case of choosing the lesser evil and it seems to me that Clinton was the lesser evil, but I was wrong.

I can’t help but wonder if American women were not angered enough by Trumps objectification of women. His ‘boy talk’ comments, I thought, would be enough to make women all over America vote him out. His insensitive remarks towards immigrants and Muslims who contribute greatly to America’s economy should make one angry enough, right?

Is it that Americans are not ready for a woman president? Is it that Americans hate immigrants that much that they want them to leave their country?

This is the most controversial and cut throat election in the history of America, and it says alot about the American people.

Even with media and polls showing that Hillary was going to win, the situation on the ground is totally different. Meaning that a majority of the American people were not sincere and were hiding a card under the table. They liked Trump in secret but pretended to support Clinton to look politically correct.

The people that will suffer the most if Trump wins, are the immigrants, muslims, women and Africa and most especially Kenyans.

Let’s brace ourselves for a bumpy ride with a Trump administration.
