The four hardcore criminals who escaped from the Kibos Prison last week are still at large. Prison authorities say they are following vital leads that could lead to their capture.
Nyanza Regional Prisons Commander Amos Misik said CID officers were trailing the four and they could be rearrested by the end of this week.
Mr Misik said detectives had narrowed their search and it was only a matter of time before the four, who had been convicted for defilement, violent robbery and murder, are back in prison. "The pursuit is on and we have leads on three.
By weekend we should have recaptured at least one," he said. Meanwhile, eight police officers who were interdicted over the daring escape of the apital offenders remain suspended as they await the Director of Public Prosecution's recommendation on whether they should appear in court to answer to charges on the escape or face orderly proceedings.
