Most Reverend Jackson Nasoore ole Sapit has been officially enthroned as the 6th Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) at a ceremony held at the All Saints Cathedral.

The Most Reverend, who will take over the reins from retired Archbishop Eliud Wabukala, was formerly in charge of Kericho Bishopric which included Narok, Bomet and Kericho

The ceremony was attended by top leaders from the Government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

The service was led by Maseno West Diocese Bishop Joseph Wasonga, who also doubles up as the dean of the ACK Church.

“Bishop Wasonga will be the man to swear in the new primate. Archbishop of Tanzania Jacob Erasto Chimeledya will be the preacher during service,” Nairobi Anglican Bishop Waweru had explained to Standard in an earlier interview.

In his sermon, Archbishop Chimeledya told Rev. Sapit to stand by the word of God in all seasons, good or bad, stand firm on the push against same sex marriages and be ready to continue the fight against corruption.
