Two officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were rescued and one still missing after a vehicle they were traveling in was swept away by floods in Marsabit County.
The three DCI officers were heading to peace meeting at Illeret on Tuesday night when river Balal in North Horr constituency swept away the vehicle they were on board.
Confirming the incident Marsabit central OCPD Mark Wanjala said the river broke its bank following heavy rains and swept away the vehicle.
He said two officers have been rescued and were rushed to Marsabit hospital for treatment and were in stable condition.
"We have poor communication network on the ground but rescue operation for drowned officer is ongoing since Tuesday night," he said.
