The Government will spend Sh30 million to repair a bridge washed away by El-nino floods in Kathiani constituency.
Links between Kangundo and Machakos towns had been been cut following the destruction of the bridge. It connected Kaukuyuni in Kangundo with Kathiani in Machakos.
Kathiani MP Robert Mbui Sunday said the money will temporally repair the bridge pending the approval of the budget in June that will allocate enough money for its full construction.
He said business between the two sides was adversely affected when the only link through River Thwake was cut.
The MP said this while inspecting the progress of the repair works at the bridge. He was accompanied by road engineers from the Kenya Rural Roads Authority.
