A university lecturer and his guest were found unconscious in the institution's campus in Kisumu.
According to Maseno University's Public Relations Officer, Jasper Otieno, the management was investigating the incident which took place in the lecturer's office on fifth floor at Varsity Plaza campus.
The lecturer teaches Community Health at the university's school of medicine located on the same floor.
He is said to have walked into the campus with the woman who works at a nursing home in Kisumu at 11am on Friday.

However, when a security guard on normal patrol passed by the lecturer's office, he found both man and woman lying on the floor unconscious.
"I found the lecturer leaning on his chair with his lips covered in a white substance. The woman was found lying on the floor with foam in her mouth," said the security guard.
Lying beside them was a syringe. It is believed the two might have injected themselves with a substance that led to them falling unconscious.
Another security guard said they were approached by police who asked them if they knew where two people had been found 'dead' at the campus.
Kisumu County Police Commandant Nelson Njiri confirmed the incident saying they received information about the incident from other lecturers.
He said the woman was the lecturer's girlfriend.
"It was after a short while that we saw the police come out of the main building with the lecturer and the woman who were still unconscious," said the security guard.
The two were taken to the Maseno clinic for first aid.
They were later referred to Avenue Hospital but apparently declined.
The officers found some tablets in the lecturer's car.
