Five MPs from Kiambu County have called on the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Ndegwa Muhoro to explain why a Kiambu-based blogger was charged in a Mombasa court.
Kimani Ichung'wah (Kikuyu), Jude Njomo (Kiambu town), Alice Ng'ang'a (Thika town), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) and former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi who spoke on Sunday evening at Ndumberi shopping centre read malice in the decision to sprint the suspect to Mombasa.
They spoke during prayer meeting for Waime Mburu, the blogger, which was also attended by area MCA Ngugi Uiru, Karungo wa Thang'wa (Ngewa), Njenga Murugami (Limuru Central) and Grison Ngigi (Ngoliba).
"Since Waime was arrested at Kiambu law court he should have been arraigned in the same court. Why take him all the way to Mombasa?" said Njomo.
Antony Njoroge Mburu, popularly known as Mburu Waime, was arrested on Monday last week at Kiambu law court and detained at Kiambu police station and Kasarani police station before being transferred to Shimo la Tewa.
