Time has come for the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to prove its relevance.
It is completely unacceptable that politicians have continued to divide Kenyans through hate speech yet NCIC, which is mandated to curb the menace, remains toothless.
The commission must remain vigilant and rein in inciters if it wants to remain relevant.
It must harness the advancements in video technology to gather concrete evidence that would enable it file strong cases against perpetrators and have them put behind bars.
