Governor William Kabogo and two MPs now believe that the recent political developments on the International Criminal Court (ICC) issue may impact positively on the case against Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua arap Sang.
They argued that it is becoming increasingly clear that the whole episode was a ploy to assume power in the last General Election by power-hungry politicians.
"It's now in the public domain that the whole story was a fabrication by people who wanted to win politically and it's the high time that the cases are terminated once and for all," Mr Kabogo said.
Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and his Kiambu Town counterpart Jude Njomo said the cases had no merit and may be headed for termination.
