Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has vowed not to withdraw the motion to impeach Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over alleged corruption in the National Youth Service (NYS).
Mr Keter said this a day after Jubilee leaders denounced the motion at a press conference in Nairobi. He also maintained that no amount of intimidation will force him to withdraw the motion.
“Waiguru must go, I am not scared and will not withdraw from collecting signatures to have the CS impeached. Fighting corruption is going to change Kenya,” said Keter.
In his attack on National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, the legislator said: “Some MPs addressed a press conference in the name of Duale. They do not speak on behalf of Jubilee. Duale is a Majority Leader in the House, a responsibility in the chambers and when he comes out, he should leave politics to us”.
On Thursday, Jubilee MPs led by Duale and Senator Charles Keter dismissed the Nandi Hills MP’s threats to impeach Ms Waiguru and accused him of being used by the Opposition to rock the government. Duale said all Jubilee MPs had been advised to ignore Keter.

But the MP insisted that the Sh791 million reportedly misappropriated in NYS was a lot of money and vowed to take up the matter before Parliament.
“The reason why our teachers are home is because the government does not have money when the country loses over Sh400 billion due to corruption every year. The NYS issue is not a small matter,” he stated.
Keter spoke yesterday at the home of former Provincial Commissioner Japhter Kiplimo Rugut, in Koilot, Lessos, Nandi Hills constituency in Nandi County during the burial of his daughter Deborah Rugut.
