We have in the past couple of days witnessed numerous orders by the DPP, but in what in my estimation is a very disorderly and unjustifiable manner.

My take is that acts of blackmail and political intimidation directed at opposition politicians is not a solution to the challenges that the Government is facing. It will neither cow critics of the Government nor subdue them into silence, but only act to embolden their resolve.

The truth of the matter remains that the Government is unable to meet its financial obligations. The Government is trying to run the economy using internally generated resources by way of tax revenue which is not sustainable. There is no inflow of foreign capital due to deplorable Corporate Governance, image and integrity issues.

Apart from the issue of teachers' salaries, the National Government is unable to release money to the devolved Government units. Suppliers of goods and services have not been paid for a long spell of time. It is only a matter of time before the Government fully fails to meet its recurrent expenditure, leave alone any form of development expenditure.

You do not solve the above problems by ordering Raila and Muthama to record statements. Those are diversionary and desperate measures aimed at shifting attention from the real issues. The truth remains that Jubilee has failed the leadership test, and the earlier it went home the better for all of us as Kenyans.
