More than 250 health workers in Busia County will be promoted, the county government has said.
Speaking during a free cancer screening and awareness drive in Busia that ended Friday, County Executive Committee Member for Health Maurice Siminyu said failure to execute the promotions earlier was due to delays of personal files from Nairobi.
“We have started receiving the files which had proved to be a challenge. We shall put you in the rightful position,” Dr Siminyu told the workers. Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’s wife, Judy, who is behind the initiative, led by example on Thursday when she was screened for both breast and cervical cancer.
Judy was flanked by Busia women representative, Florence Mutua.
