Of late, Kenyans have had a front row seat watching questionable theatrics played out by those entrusted with the task of leading people to Heaven.
Some of our renowned preachers have sadly taken to portraying characteristics akin to those biblical teachings have warned us about with regards to false teachers.
And while we have been advised to be weary of such, these shepherds surprisingly still command a huge following.
One such cleric who has of late graced our TV screens is Pastor James Nganga of Neno Evangelism.
Social media has been awash with claims that Mr Nganga was involved in a grisly road accident that led to the death of one person and caused injuries to another.
On his part, the pastor has come out strongly to deny these allegations and it now appears that this case could be headed to court after police recommended he be charged with reckless driving.
The case involving Nganga has also resurfaced the debacle that surrounded Pastor Kanyari's miracle allegations when Kenyans were treated to a spectacle of how far a "man of God" will go to dupe his followers.
These actions by our pastors and church officials not only provide fodder for the social media scene but also unfortunately taint the Church’s image, making many doubt even those that are not associated with such abhorrent acts.
It now behooves us as individuals to choose wisely who we involve ourselves with.
