A 70-year-old man and his son were on Friday morning shot dead by his elder brother in an incident that shocked residents of Kisoko village in Nambale, Busia County.
Pascal Makokha Obilo, 68, shot his brother Fredrick Leja Obilo and his nephew Geoffrey Asia, 30, with a pistol.
Asia, Leja's firstborn son, was shot in the waist and succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at Kisoko mission hospital.
Nambale OCPD Henry Muriithi said Leja, who was shot in the chest, died at Kisoko market as he was being rushed to hospital.
Makokha, a former engineer with Kenya Airways, had disagreed with his relatives over a piece of land.

Relatives say the three had been feuding over the land for a long time. Makokha, a licensed gun holder, surrendered to Nambale police station and will be taken to court on Monday. Irate locals later burnt down Makokha's house.
