People who sat their Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) exams between 2010 and 2013 and whose certificates have been withheld by the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) for failing to submit photographs have been asked to do so.
Monday, the national examinations body gave the affected candidates two months to submit photographs or miss out on their result slips. In a statement, Knec said they were unable to print the certificates because of the missing photos.
“Knec wishes to inform all candidates who have not received their KCSE examination certificates for the years 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 due to challenges related to the photographs that they can now submit the photographs through their former schools,” said the council.
The photographs are embossed on the certificates, a move taken by the council in 2010 to reduce cheating and sharing of certificates. In 2010, all KCSE candidates were required to submit photographs to Knec as part of the registration process.
