Police officers have been deployed on boundaries of Wajir and Marsabit following clashes between Ajuran and Dogodia communities that have left three people dead, so far.
Sololo Deputy County Commissioner Raphael Muiruri said police officers are patrolling villages located along the boundaries.
Mr Muiruri said the deployment is to ensure the tribal fights experienced in the neighbouring county would not spill over to Sololo region.
Muiruri said the recent fight between the two rival communities in Wajir have caused tension along the border villages of Ambalo and Badanrero in Sololo sub-county.
“We have sent police officers to Ambalo and Badanrero villages in order to diffuse tension,” he said while refuting claims that the two communities fought at Badanrero last Saturday.

Both Ajuran and Dogodia communities cross over to Sololo for grazing and are reportedly fighting on the Wajir side of the Wajir-Marsabit counties boundaries.
At least three people have been confirmed dead in the last one week following the fight over control of resources in the region.
Basir and Lakole villages in Wajir County are the most affected.
Sololo peace committee Chairman Galm Dabasso urged government to contain the situation in Wajir at an early stage before it spreads to other areas.
