Rongo, Kenya: Police in Kuria West have launched investigations into death of a third year student of Rongo University, whose body was found dumped in a forest, in Tagare, Migori County.
The student was out of school preparing to start his attachment when he met his death.
Kuria West OCPD Paul Kiogora said that the body of the student was found yThursday dumped in a forest with some injuries.
"The body was found in a forest, a few meters from their home with injuries in different parts, indicating that he was hit by a blunt object. We have launched investigations into the matter to establish what could have possibly caused his death and the people behind the attack," said Kiogora.
Meanwhile, Rongo University Principal Prof Samuel Gudu said that the institution is saddened by the demise of the student.

"It is sad that such a young person met his death in an unclear circumstance. The entire university is sad and we offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the departed student," said Gudu.
He urged police to do an in-depth investigation to unearth the cause of his death.
The body was moved to Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.
