National Oil has announced a reduction of cooking gas prices for its SupaGas brand. The reduction covers all segments of the oil firm's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) business line, including retail and commercial sales.
The new prices mean that SupaGas refills for three, six and 13kg cylinders will cost Sh577, Sh1,164 and Sh2,517 respectively down from 670, 1,260 and 2,750 in Nairobi. Prices for other regions across the country have also been reduced.
The discounted prices are available to cash and SupaCard customers at all National Oil petrol stations, supermarkets and appointed resellers countrywide. The price reduction is part of the oil marketers strategy to enhance LPG uptake and promote cooking gas as a clean and green alternative.
Kenya ranks lowly in Africa in the LPG usage index due to high cost of LPG equipment, unreliable supply and limited distribution.
