Kenya: Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki against being misused by politicians for their own benefit.
Speaking at Nkondi Methodist Church in Tharaka on Sunday during the burial of former Tharaka MP Njagi Wakiondo, Kalonzo told Kindiki that he risked being cheated by politicians from Central Kenya that they would back him in 2022 general elections.
The former vice president said he has been cheated and misused and that is why he can never join them in politics.
"I have been misused by being promised big seats but it has never happened," he said. "I am advising you as my junior that you should not focus on 2022 but instead develop Tharaka Nithi and focus on 2017 polls," he added.
He also revealed that the Leader of Majority in the Senate helped him strategise for 2002 general elections and advised him on how to "Kupitia katikati".

However, Kithure urged Kalonzo to leave CORD and join Jubilee Alliance Party so as to unify the eastern region as far as politics are concerned.
"I am used to attack CORD but I have never attacked my neighbour Kalonzo because I respect him and I would urge him to join us," Kindiki said.
Kindiki said he is determined for deputy president's seat in 2022 and asked the larger Meru community to support him so that he can lead them to power.
Both Musyoka and Kindiki promised to support each other in developing Mwingi and Tharaka Nithi especially in construction of a mega dam along river Tana and tarmacking of roads for the benefit of residents.
Former Tharaka MPs Francis Kagwima and Murango Mwenda, current MP MP Alex Mwiru, Muthomi Njuki (Chuka/Igambang'ombe) Rahim Dahood (Imenti North) and Tharaka Nithi County MP Beatrice Nkatha attended the burial and they all called for unity between Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties.
