Kuria, Kenya: A minor is being held at Ntimaru police station for allegedly killing his step brother aged 15 at Nguruna location in Kuria East sub-county.
The 16-year-old suspect is reported to have stabbed his step brother to death following a disagreement over initiation practice they underwent recently.
Kuria East OCPD Gladys Ogonda, said the deceased allegedly ridiculed the suspect, telling him that he cried while being circumcised and the suspect got incensed for being portrayed as a coward.
"We believe the sentiments may have provoked the step brother who took a knife and stabbed the deceased," said Ms Ogonda.
Ms Ogonda is now calling on residents to ensure initiates don't carry crude weapons as this may encourage them to misuse them.
