NAIROBI: An American franchise has added two more food stores in Nairobi's Gigiri area.
The opening is a boost to the hospitality industry at a time when other foreign investors are keeping off the country on grounds of insecurity.
US Ambassador Robert Godec reassured of his government's support in fighting the war against terrorism, adding that the influx of American companies into the Kenyan market is an indication of its commitment to doing business in the country.
"We are with you in this fight. Terrorism is bigger than Kenya. Together we can stop terrorism," said Mr Godec.
He was speaking when he opened American-based fast food chain Domino's pizza and ice cream seller Cold Stone Creamery at United Nations Corner in Gigiri.

Godec said several American franchises had already entered the Kenyan market, adding that many more are planning to open doors in Kenya.
"The franchises are just two examples of our increased investments in Kenya. There are a lot of more companies seeking to increase their presence in Kenya," he said.
Despite the recent terror attacks in the country that has led to the death of many people, the envoy assured Kenyans that his country will invest more in Kenya, and create jobs for the locals.
"The opening of these businesses is a vote of confidence; the US believes that Kenya has a bright future," said Godec.
Cold Stone Creamery has opened two stores in Nairobi; one on Mama Ngina Street and another at Fortis Tower in Westlands, while Domino's Pizza opened their first store at Fortis Tower.
Domino's President Richard Allison expressed his excitement about the opening of the stores in Kenya saying that the brands will boost the country's economy.
"We are going to build great business in this country. The fact that we are opening the second store in less than a month is a sign that Kenya is good for businesses," he said.
