A seven-year-old boy was seriously injured when a bomb accidentally went off in Lare Soro, Samburu East.
The bomb reportedly blew up as the minor was playing with it. A relative, Tom Lekiiya, told The Standard on Saturday that they found the critically injured boy writhing in pain on the ground before he was rushed to hospital.
“We found him in a pool of blood on the ground and we called the British Army soldiers in a camp who flew him to Wamba Mission Hospital,” he said.
Wamba Sub County commissioner Winston Murungi said the bomb is suspected to be among the explosives abandoned by forces training under British Army Training Unit in Kenya.
