Kerugoya, Kenya: Two senior administrators who allegedly went underground to avoid criminal charges yesterday presented themselves in court. A Kerugoya court had on Tuesday issued warrants of arrest for the two officers; Kirinyaga Central sub-county Assistant Commissioner Justus Magangi and Kanyiekeni Chief Laurent Munyi.
They had been charged with conspiracy to transfer a parcel of land from the name of its deceased owner Japheth Gikunju to Josiah Njagi.
They faced a second count of inter-meddling with the property of Mr Gikunju while not being administrators of his estate by transferring and registering the land in question in a different name.
The two denied the charges and were released on bond pending the hearing of their case. They are likely to face interdiction until the case is heard and determined.
