Kenya: The Government has released Sh25 million to pay off debts in all agricultural training colleges (ATC) countrywide.
Assistant director of technical training at the Agriculture ministry Philip Makheti said clearing the debts is aimed at creating a blank sheet for the institutions to start afresh.
Makheti said in the 2013/2014 financial year, the State allocated funds aimed at ensuring all 34 ATCs are equipped with modern facilities.
"This will provide farmers with comfort while undergoing training," he said, adding Sh10 million had been released to upgrade the Siaya Agricultural Training Centre.
