Marsabit,Kenya: At least five people among them two pupils were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident yesterday morning in Marsabit.
The accident occurred along Marsabit-Badasa road at about 11am after the vehicle, which had 20 passengers, veered off the road and overturned.
An eye witness said several passengers escaped unhurt.
The students that were going to attend an athletics competition in Marsabit town.
Four people, who were injured in the accident, were rushed to Marsabit Hospital. Another passenger, who sustained back injuries, was taken to Meru Hospital.

Marsabit Central OCPD Mark Wanjala said the vehicle experienced mechanical problem on a hill at Gadamoji area before it overturned.
“Four people were rushed to Marsabit Hospital while a 16 year-old girl, who suffered backbone injuries, was referred to Meru Hospital,” Mr Wanjala said on phone.
He noted those who were admitted at Marsabit Hospital had suffered leg, hand and neck injuries.
