Nairobi, Kenya: A police officer was Tuesday night attacked and seriously wounded in a robbery incident in Korogocho slums, Nairobi.
The officer was in the company of his female colleague, who is also an officer, when they were attacked by men believed to be thugs.
Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue said the female officer managed to escape and ran few meters away before boarding a motorbike leaving her colleague in the hands of criminals.
The thugs injured him in the head as they struggled to steal valuables from him before they escaped.

“The were not armed at the time of the attack. We are investigating the incident with an aim of getting those behind it,” said Kibue.
Police say the injured officer was taken to the hospital in a stable condition and no arrest has been made so far.
