The anti-narcotics agency has called for a crisis board meeting tomorrow to discuss the Auditor General’s report on the loss of over Sh150 million.
According to the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) board chairman John Mututho, the meeting will discuss the report before deciding on the next course of action.
Mr Mututho said he was not surprised by the report, adding that he had raised the issue of funds misappropriation in 2010. “We shall be meeting to discuss the report before inviting Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Criminal Investigation Department to act on it,” he said.
Addressing the Press in Naivasha, Mututho said Nacada was working with the National Transport Authority to buy more Alcoblow devices. He said the breathalysers would be spread to all counties to deal with cases of drunk drivers on the roads.

“We also have plans to buy sniffer-dogs from Israel and this will be used to conduct raids in learning institutions so as to deal with drugs and substance abuse,” he added.
Mututho also put illegal brewers on notice.
