Being a woman is a brand. A woman is expected to act in a certain way. A woman is expected to walk, eat, talk and sit in a certain way. A woman and a man are two distinct brands that can never be represented the same way.
A woman is feminine, a man is masculine. A woman’s physique is different from a man’s. A woman approaches issues differently from the way a man approaches them. Of the two brands, a woman is expected to be more tender and compassionate. A brand that stands on its own does not compete to fit into the shoes of another brand.
A brand needs to stand out, so stand out as a woman. Here are a few tips on how to be a brand that stands out and not necessarily try to compete with the male brand:
1) Be different

Recognize that a brand needs to stand out. The way you dress, talk, walk and carry out your chores will influence the kind of perception that people have of you. Using the feminine card to get ahead once in a while is not a wrong move. A woman is neat, has curves, dresses appropriately; every woman can do this. What makes you stand out among other women and the male dominated career sector?
2) Choose one word that describes you and stick by it
My definition of branding involves that one adjective that people would relate to in connection with you. Beautiful, strong, sassy, classy, compassionate etc. What do people think about you when you walk into a room? Pick an adjective, work towards being that brand.
3) Accept yourself
There is no better ambassador of you than yourself. Accept yourself. Embrace the flaws, flaunt the good side. You are never too skinny or too fat. Too dark or too light. Too tall or too short. These are just excuses that we use as women because we are afraid of the powerful potential that we possess. Step out of your comfort zone. Put on a bikini. Put on a short dress, go dancing. Try something new. In short, be comfortable as a woman because that i s something that you cannot change and as long as you embrace your feminine side, then you are a brand to reckon with.
Finally, this is not a feminist article, but a letter from one woman to another. If we embraced ourselves and accepted that we are awesome, powerful, beautiful, and intelligent and can be anything we put our hearts to, then the brand that is a woman will make great strides.
