Central Bank Governor Njuguna Ndung’u has moved to court to stop his arrest and prosecution. Prof Ndung’u filed an urgent case at the High Court in Nairobi.
The governor is challenging a decision made recently by the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko to charge him over the tendering process for supply and installation of Integrated Security Management Systems. The DPP gave the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission the go-ahead to charge the governor in court over irregularities in the tendering process.
Ndung’u, in the documents filed through lawyer Donald Kipkorir, told the court he is the Chief Executive Officer and is not involved in the tendering process.
“The petitioner is not in any way involved in the tender process. The allegations against him on the tender have no factual basis,” said Mr Kipkorir.
